How do I loan a piece of equipment?

I live outside of Bristol, can I still loan equipment?

Yes. However you will have to come to our lock-up in Bedminster to collect and return it.

Do I have to pay for the equipment? 

No, but we do change a small fee for delivery for our Tuesday Delivery and Pick-up service. This is currently £10 (£5 each way) and only available to families with a Bristol postcode.

I cannot afford the delivery charge; can I still loan some equipment? 

Yes, if money is a barrier for you to access our services, we may be able to waiver the delivery fee. We will need to see proof of your benefits, i.e Universal Credit. If you want to an informal chat with us about it, feel free to call us on 07761913466.

What days do you make deliveries?

Our delivery and pick-up service runs on a Tuesday between 9.30am-2pm. This involves a delivery fee of £10 (£5 each way). 

What day is the collection and drop-off service available? 

Wednesday between 9.30am-2pm. This is a FREE service.

How long do I get the equipment for?

Two weeks. 

Can I reserve more than one item?

Yes, you can now two items and reserve a 3rd. The 3rd item must be reserved for different dates so they and not loaned at the same time. As we want as many families to benefit from this service as possible.

The item I want is on loan, can I reserve it for next time?

Yes, go to the item you wish to reserve, and click the ‘borrow/reserve’ button. You will need to put in a date in the future in process the reservation. *Please be aware the item will need to be cleaned and processed before it’s ready for loaning again.

Can I loan more than one item? 

Yes, we allow two items at a time. However, due to volunteer driver availability this may not always be possible. We will contact you if this is the case.  

If I am not going to be in, can I leave the equipment with a neighbour?

Yes. But you will need to contact us first to set this up. We will need to know the full address and name of person we are leaving the equipment with. This person will sign for it on behalf of you. 

I am shielding, can we still loan some equipment? 

We have safety measures in place to keep you and our staff safe. We will keep a 2 meter distance at all time and our staff and volunteers will be wearing the correct PPE. All equipment is cleaned thoroughly after each loan and left for three days before being prepared for loaning again.  

We are self-isolating due to Covid-19. Can we still loan some equipment? 

Yes. We have safety measures in place to keep you and our staff safe. We will leave the equipment outside of your house and ring the bell. Our volunteers will then return to a safe distance and take a picture of the item with your open door. All equipment is left for three days prior to being cleaned. It is cleaned and wrapped and then left for a further three days, ready to be loaned again. 

The school/ nursery my child goes to would like to loan some equipment, is that possible? 

Yes. Please email Lucy@gympanzees.org for more information. You will need to fill in a separate form, however loaning is exactly the same.

I’m not sure what equipment is suitable for my child, can you help?

Yes, absolutely. You can drop us an email - lendinglibrary@gympanzees.org or you can chat to someone on 07761913466. We’ll need a bit more information on your child’s disability so we can find the most suitable pieces of equipment for you. 

Do you know of any grants available? I would love to purchase some of the equipment, but it's too expensive.
